Description | - Thomas Westby and others to be the trustees of his estates at Brampton Bierlow and to collect the rents therefrom, paying legacies viz:- - £30 p.a. to support an afternoon preacher for Wath; - £5 p.a. to the vicar of Darfield so long as he resides in the vicarage house; - £6-13-4d p.a. to the school at Brampton for teaching 20 of the poorest boys and girls of the parish to read the Bible with 20s p.a. to buy books, 50s p.a. for putting a poor boy apprentice, 10s p.a. for coals and 52s p.a. to buy 12d worth of bread each week to be distributed at Wath Church every Sunday to such poor scholars who come most constantly to Church; - 20s p.a. to one poor widow of Brampton with leave to dwell in a room in the school house; - identical bequest to Barnsley School; - £10 to the newly erected charity school at Rotherham towards teaching and clothing the charity scholars; - similar bequests for the support of the church at Clapham (NYK); - various pecuniary legacies.
