| Notes | The Regiment was linked with the second Royal Navy warship named H.M.S. Sheffield, due to its affiliation with the first H.M.S. Sheffield, affiliated with The Wellington Regiment (City of Wellington's Own), New Zealand, and had wider association with the Wellington region. It was also allied with Les Fusiliers Mont Royal, Montreal, Canada and the 7th Battalion The Royal Malay Regiment, Malaya, and had a public house in Rotherham (Cat and Cabbage, opened 1974) and in Wellington, New Zealand (The Royal Tiger Hotel, opened 1860) and a railway engine named for it. |
