| Description | Includes two copies of a printed order of service for the laying up of colours of the 1st Battalion York and Lancaster Regiment at Sheffield Cathedral (14 December 1968), together with newspaper articles, concerning the disbandment of the 1st Battalion and their last parade in Sheffield (1968-1972). Accomapnied by a printed booklet titled, 'The York and Lancaster War Benevolent Fund: A Short History of all Battalions of the Regiment 1939-1945' (1946). This material was compiled and kept by Mrs R. Neale of Herringthorpe. It was donated to Sheffield City Archives in 1985 and then transferred to Rotherham Archives in 2023. |
