Description | Includes a letter sent by John Edward Brooks, known as Jack, to his brother George Brook, whilst on active service with the 12th Battalion York and Lancaster Regiment (29 June 1918). The letter contains birthday wishes, news from home and him wanting to have a 'cuddle' with 'his girl', as well as brief references to his time in the trenches in France. Jack Brooks died soon after writing this letter on 20 July 1918.
