TitleRotherham Archives "Treasures of the Archive" display reveals Herringthorpe's forgotten colliery
DescriptionThe story of Herringthorpe Colliery starts in 1702 but it was never recognised as one of the major pits of the borough, and had completely disappeared from the map by 1850. The coloured plan of the colliery, which forms part of a volume of drawings, is to be displayed in the Archives exhibition.
