NotesOld bandstand - (SK43489294) Park opened 1891. Appear on OS revision of 1901. Removal (to Masbrough Recreation Ground) first mentioned in Rotherham Annual of 1901. A First World War tank placed on the site 1919-27. Photo No. 10279 and others.

Temporary bandstand - (approx. SK43409285) "To be erected", May 1922. Does not appear on any OS map. Only clue as to position is photo no. 00985.

New bandstand - On site of old bandstand, opened May 1928 - to present. Renovated, and re-opened by Queen Elizabeth II in May 1991. Photo No. 13500 and many others.

Firm dates may be in the relevant local authority minutes but as they are largely un-indexed this would require an extended search. It is not possible to be wholly reliant on the OS revisions of 1951.
