Recites
- That 1) were appointed on 6 April 1796 as commissioners in the bankruptcy of Foljambe Wood of Barnsley, Yorkshire, linen manufacturer
- That Foljambe Wood had for more than 10 years also been in business as a banker and became indebted to Edward Carter of Doncaster, Yorkshire, brandy merchant for £260 upwards
- That the creditors of Foljambe Wood had met, at Mrs. Roper's house in Barnsley on 25 April 1796; they proved debts of £10 upwards and then chose 2) as a assignees of Foljambe Wood's estate
- That at the time of his bankruptcy Wood had interests in property as follows:
A) 3 messuages etc recently erected in Market Place, Barnsley: 2 on or near the site of the Angel Inn, in the tenure of Wood and Mrs. Ann Dickinson, widow and 1 on or near the site previously occupied by Hannah Willey and then by John Jubb
B) parcels of land in Barnsley, most inclosed by Act of Parliament and allocated to various owners (named). Total of 14a 3r 3p being parcels numbered 712 (in Church Field) 744, 745 and 857-860 inclusive (in Warren Common) and Cockram Well Close, adjoining 712.
C) a messuage etc on the North side of High Street, Rotherham formerly in the tenure of Richard Law then of William Haigh and Wood purchased, by Wood from the Earl of Effingham (bounds recited)
D) cottage and garden etc at Sandy Gate, Ardsley, par Darfield, Yks purchased from Charles Marshall, formerly occupied by Thomas Fox, John Sheppard, Elizabeth Ellison and Hannah Greenwood
E) a garden in Ardsley (c. 135 sq yd) purchased from John Haigh (bounds recited)
F) 2 messuages etc at Emley Park, Ardsley with 2 gardens and a small piece of ground to the South occupied by William Milnes and Thomas Rogers, purchased from Samuel Hirst of Mexborough, blacksmith
2) paid 1) 5s
