TitleLetter 9
DescriptionAddressed to Mr Allison from H.E.Baker, this letter discusses Mr Baker having a number of weeks back been 'laid out' by a couple of 'lady cyclists' and that due to this his lecture originally scheduled for April 4th was postponed until the next session along with references to Mr Himsworth's Lecture (which is enclosed within this letter) and advise regarding how and when to view the two Bloomeries at Thrybergh which Mr Baker was inclined to think said premises were used by Messrs Walkers for Boring Gunas from 1785 onwards.

The enclosed lecture summary by a Mr Himsworth is dated 10th March 1938 from the Department of Applied Science at St. George Square Sheffield written on branded paper as the Society for the Preservation of Old Sheffield Tools in association with The Sheffield Trades Technical Societies, the president to which was an E.Walker, A.M.I.Mech.E, the Honorable Treasurer an E.E.G. Bradbury and the Secretary a W.H.Bolton, the latter being whom said letter is signed by. The contents of this letter discuss Mr J. B. Himsworth, F.R.S.A., the chairman of the above-named society and his lecture arranged for the next Monday evening on '500 years of Sheffield Trades and Sheffield Castle' along with Lantern Slides.
