DescriptionReport on the disbandment of the Loyal Sheffield Regiment of Foot in 1795, naming some of the officers who went on to join the 65th Regiment of Foot. Also, the history of the Loyal Independent Sheffield Volunteers (1794-1802), including a list of officers, a description of the uniform, and the inscription on the Regiment's two bronze cannon which were placed on each side of the war memorial to the York and Lancaster Regiment in Weston Park, Sheffield. Two black and white photos of the cannon are attached.
