NotesThe album of presscuttings on the activities of the 12th Battalion 1914-1915 was created by Frank Appleby, 12th Battalion, who died on the first day of the battle of the Somme, 1 Jul 1916. It is thought to have been passed to George Skidmore, who also died serving with the 12th Battalion, and then passed to Skidmore's son William.
