Each of the 26 individual churches have a range of records relating to church business, church property and Sunday School. The number of records for each church can vary from a single document to six boxes or more of volumes and papers. For many of the churches there are volumes and papers relating to church business including baptism and marriage registers, society, leaders and church council minutes and correspondence, collection journals, church notices, account books and ephemera. Volumes and papers relating to church property include Trustee minutes, correspondence and accounts, deeds and building plans. Records for the Sunday School include teachers minutes and attendance registers . For some churches there are also records for the sisterhood and other groups and societies.
There are also records of the Wath Aid Project which was a project that listed the Wath and Mexborough collection, transcribed some of the baptism registers, and compiled a history of some of the churches. These records include files on each church, baptism transcripts, rough notes and burial plans. |
