Description | Three volumes of salary records, naming individual employees, and there weekly or monthly wages received, at Steel, Peech and Tozer. The volumes include the names of women workers from 1916. The number of women workers peaks in 1917, and then declines at the end of the First World War. Hover there are still some women working at the company in 1922.
The company that kept these was unknown until further research was untaken using the 1921 Census. One of the women named in the volumes, Dorothea Cheterman, who started working for the company in 1916 is listed on the 1921 Census as a Costing Clerk
