DescriptionThe 2nd Battalion is at Fort William, Calcutta, India. Patrols due to Muslim Festival; Signal Scheme exercise Mercury completed; A and B companies undergo training at Kanchipara; visits by Lt. Gen. Sir R.R. O'Conner K.C.B. D.S.O. M.C. (North Western Army India) and Brig. G.A. Bain O.B.E. (Commander Calcutta Sub-Area). Commanding Officer's Parade is held, and three Companies participate in the Calcutta Tattoo. The 2nd Battalion is informed that it will be placed into suspended animation from 30 Apr 1947.
