DescriptionTwelve letters, eleven memos and twenty-six telegraphs (either signal message forms or typed copies with distribution list attached) sent between the War Office, 146th Brigade H.Q., Northern Command and the Hallamshire Battalion at Bibaloe Camp, Douglas, Isle of Man, and at Endcliffe Hall. Subjects include: provision of an Orderly and one T.A. Platoon in the event of embodiment; authorisation of billeting under the calling out of persons for service under the Reserve and Auxiliary Forces Act 1939; lighting restrictions and blackout material; D.L.R.S. timetable between military bases and H.Q.s in Northern Command and the use of this for sending letters; requisition of cash requirements for key parties and for embodiment; security of post deliveries and use of G.P.O. mailbags; provision of steel helmets, electric torches and gas masks; new code words issued; key personnel to proceed from Douglas to York; no further recruiting to T.A. units after mobilisation; army manoeuvres cancelled; works to be carried out in relation to Passive Air Defence; issue of pay, allowances and £5 embodiment gratuity; movements of individuals to be treated as secret; names of Officers called up.
