Records any casualties, appointments and promotions, important visitors, camps and troop movements, with comments on relevant matters such as climate, landscape, changes in uniform and receipt of new weapons. Extracts from the London Gazette, reports, orders, letters and tables of staff distribution are copied out. Annotated and corrected, with instructions to omit particular sections. A later typescript list of dates and places is enclosed at the front. |
