DescriptionHallamshire Battalion occupying Germany in Bottrop. Members of Battalion to fire a War Course at Haltern Range. Members of Battalion attended a War Crimes trial at Wuppertal. Brigadier visited to watch physical training demonstration. Many Officers join the Battalion as others leave. Battalion attended film show on subject of venereal disease. V.E. Day anniversary service held. 14661101 Cpl. J.W. Metcalf awarded Order of the Bronze Lion by Netherlands Government. Battalion received instruction for plan Hold Up and are confined to billets for security reasons concerning the plan. Battalion informed it would break up in the near future. Received movement instructions for the move to Recklinhausen. Operation Low Straight took place in Gelsenkirchen and apprehended around 800 suspects.
