The records for each person vary in quantity and type, and may include official documents (Army Service Books, forms, certificates, War Office notification letters and letters that were sent with medals, letters from Imperial or Commonwealth War Graves Commission). They may also include commemorative material (memorial scrolls, biographies, obituaries and orders of service); ephemera (postcards, greetings cards, tickets, menus, invitations, presscuttings) and photographs of the individual, their Battalion, and the places that they were stationed. |
