Established as the Free Library Committee, it was reorganised as the Free Library & Technical Instruction Committee (15 Nov 1901-18 May 1903), restored as the Free Library Committee (19 May 1903-19 Oct 1906), then reorganised as the Free Library, Museum, & General Purposes Committee (21 Dec 1906-23 Jan 1908), the Free Library, Museum, Small Holdings & Allotments, and General Purposes Committee (18 Feb 1908-21 Nov 1909), Free Library & Museum Committee (22 Nov 1909-21 Jan 1924), Public Library & Museum Committee (22 Jan 1924-26 May 1965), and finally the Library, Museum & Arts Committee (27 May 1965-24 Jan 1974). |
