Description | An autobiography of John Harold Darbyshire's personal life that consists of narratives about his time in Rotherham as a young man living with his father in Maltby, a married man to his wife Jessie nee Longden, father to their three daughters along with accounts of his various occupations that ranged from accounting, mining, singing and hoteliering. The majority of the autobiography consists of detailed accounts of his time spent in the Military during World War Two where he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant, twice over.
John Darbyshire was born in 1906 and died in 1989. This narrative was written in 1983 when John was aged 77 at the bequest of his good friend Councillor E. Houghton. |
