TitleRecords of Treeton Colliery
DescriptionThe bulk of the material relates to the Barnsley Seam and the House Coal Seam at Treeton Colliery. This consists mainly of financial and administrative records including account books with costs and wages, timesheets for shifts worked by colliers with their names and occupations, daily outputs for the mine and notes on pit meetings. There is a small amount of material for the Wathwood, Haigh Moor, High Hazels and Swallow Wood seams. The archive also contains seven volumes from Fence Colliery. Some of the material relates to all of the seams at Treeton and Fence collieries and has been included under the heading Miscellaneous.

The collection also contains correspondence from Rother Vale Coal Board regarding claims for compensation from colliers, first aid books and accident registers.

The material has been divided by colliery and then by seam. It has been arranged in chronological order.
