DescriptionContains two sets of instructions issued by the War Office. 1) Instructions to Officer Commanding troops destined for Trondheim, issued to 'Stratford' Force before its despatch to Norway with the intention of preventing the enemy from making use of naval and air facilities at Bergen, Stanvanger and Trondheim. Appendices: distribution list; 'Note on possible German operations in Norway' with information on roadways and weather conditions, and 'Notes on co-operation with the armed forces of Norway'. 2) An appreciation as to scale of attack to be expected, issued to 'Avonmouth' Force, setting out two scenarios depending on whether Sweden is co-operative or hostile to German troops. Appendices: 'Essential data affecting a German concentration in the Gallivare area', and list of aerodromes, landing grounds and seaplane stations north of fifty-eight degrees latitude.
